You Bought a Vintage Piece — Here’s How to Care of It
Thank you for bringing a piece of Beyo Vintage into your home.
Whether you chose a reupholstered chair or a restored dining table, your new piece carries decades of design heritage and now, it’s part of your home. With a little care, it will stay beautiful and functional for many years.
Everyday Care of Wooden Furniture
Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to dust or wipe down surfaces. Avoid all-purpose sprays or harsh chemicals, oiled finishes respond best to gentle, non-abrasive cleaning. Microfiber cloths are ideal.
Your Care Kit from Beyo Vintage: MP52 Oil for Quick Fixes
With your furniture, you received a small bottle of MP52 oil and a cloth. This is perfect for quick touch-ups like light scratches, dull spots, or water rings.
Just apply a small amount of MP52 to the cloth and gently rub it into the affected area following the direction of the grain. It restores the surface’s luster without changing the overall finish. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wipe it off with some paper.
If you need more MP52, pass by our shop and we will give you some more!
⚠️ Important Safety Note:
Cloths or paper used with MP52 or similar oils are flammable. Always dispose of used cloths and paper safely — ideally in a sealed metal container or soaked in water before discarding. Never leave oily rags balled up, as they can self-ignite.
Other suitable options for maintenance include Fulgentin or similar gentle maintenance oils designed for vintage and waxed furniture.
Hardwax Oil — For Long-Term Maintenance
We finish our wood furniture with hardwax oil, a durable, natural treatment that protects and enhances the surface. To maintain that protection and keep the wood nourished, we recommend reapplying hardwax oil every 1–2 years.
If you're unsure how to re-oil your piece or which product to use, don’t hesitate to reach out, we’re happy to help or even do it for you.
