Teak dining chairs from the 50s and 60s
Teak chairs have often lived long lives before reaching us. At Beyo Vintage, we care for them with respect for both the material and their history before they find a new home with you. The classic retro design is a major part of their charm, and we strive to preserve it as much as possible.
While some chairs require a bit of love in our workshop, others arrive with a beautiful patina that we choose to leave intact. Small marks and signs of use are completely natural and are part of what makes each chair unique.

FAQ
Why are teak furniture no longer produced?
Teak furniture is still made, but not in the same volume as before. Today, teak is a more limited and regulated material, making it harder to source and more expensive to produce. During the 50s and 60s, teak furniture was mass-produced, but many modern manufacturers have since switched to cheaper, more accessible types of wood.
How do I know if it is real teak?
Genuine teak has a warm, golden-brown tone and a distinct, vibrant grain. The wood often feels slightly oily and is relatively heavy. On older furniture, teak usually consists of solid details or a veneered top over solid wood, rather than particle board. If you are unsure, we at Beyo Vintage are happy to help you identify the material.
Is teak very expensive?
Teak is generally a more expensive wood. It grows slowly, is extremely durable, and is not as abundant as it once was, which drives up the price of new furniture. Vintage teak is often more affordable. At Beyo Vintage, you get high-quality teak chairs with a long lifespan, often at a better price than new alternatives, while gaining furniture with a character that is hard to replicate today.
